Job Description:

  • Operate company's new commercial dump trucks to transport materials from one site to other mainly within lower mainland
  • Perform pre / post trip daily inspections
  • Verifying material loading and ensuring that they do not exceed weight restrictions
  • Plan trip Logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
  • Follow all procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Promptly reporting any accidents, injuries or mechanical faults to management.
  • Perform basic emergency road side repairs, if required
  • Communicate with dispatcher to organize routing and delivery schedules
  • Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books
  • Tarping as required and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Must be fluent in English (Oral and Written), -Timecard tracking and Bills of lading , working knowledge of construction and waste disposal sites, able to provide clean drivers abstract, and provide own PPE.

A submission of your Drivers abstract with current and valid certifications , Resume for consideration.

Must be able to conduct and clear D&A and Fit Test

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with team members to resolve conflict and promptly respond to customer needs

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of building materials/construction/material sales experience
  • Extensive knowledge of earthworks/ aggregate material sales requirements (considered an asset)
  • Understanding of Heavy Equipment / Dump Trucks is an asset
  • Knowledge of the Lower Mainland & the Fraser Valley
  • Demonstrates initiative & accountability
  • Communication skills; both verbal (radio) and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Word

Job Description:

  • Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and document important information.
  • Respond to any issues and follow up by coordinating with the appropriate departments or field units.
  • Operate and manage a multi-line telephone console system.
  • Respond to queries related to products and deliveries.
  • Use the radio, phone or computer to direct crews and other field units to the appropriate sites.
  • Prioritize and organize calls according to urgency.
  • Supervise the route and status of field units to prioritize their daily schedule.
  • Maintain and update call logs, call records and other important documentation.
  • Update the dispatch sheet in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and follow through with callers.
  • Rapidly input information into a data entry system

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Industry standards (included but not limited to):

    - Ministry of Transportation guidelines
    - Gravel Dumpsites
    - Asphalt Pits
    - Earthworks/Aggregates
    - Mechanics of Trucks
  • Strong knowledge of emergency processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
